Animated GIFs and QuickTime Movies: (See YouTube section for more.)
May2017: It appears that some of the links (to anims) on this page
are no longer working... We're looking into it!
You might have better luck by viewing the following pages:

Strange Green Man:
We are just at the very beginning of a new multimedia Book / Lookbook project of our own creation. Aimed primarily at children, the idea is to combine text, poetry, songs, music, sounds, graphics and animations (no touch or snmell, unfortunately!) to create a truly immersive experience.
One of the already-written songs / poems is called "Face Like a Horse", but is introduced by:
"Into the room came the strange green man,
with a double-decker hat and a frying pan..."
As of Sunday 1st April 2018, we have started to create graphics and animation to accompany the poetry and music:
More to come! ...
Penrose Triangle... or, if you prefer, simply "Escher-like":
After all, M.C. Escher DID inspire Oscar Reutersvard to perfect it.
It's ONE thing to create a static version, but making it come back to Ground-Zero,
"just-so" (and with "emphasis"), proved a bigger challenge than originally anticipated!
Specs: This was first created as a .avi movie on 31st May 2017 using DAZ 3D Studio,
and then "dumbed down" as a .GIF to 300 frames at 30fps (= 10 secs)
at a ratio of 9:6, being 800x622 pixels.
Stay-tuned for a few more Escher-like creations... like the staircase, waterfall, etc...
April 2017: Same comment as above:
It appears that some of the very old links on this page
are no longer working... We're looking into it!
Shuffle-dancer / Shadow-Boxer:
This one is also working!
Again, click on the + to expand, or anywhere else on the image to activate the .mp4 animation.
Specs: The original, created on 19th April 2017 using DAZ 3D Studio, was a 9-second 30 fps
.avi with dimensions of 1,178 x 870 (ie, bigger than 1080P) and occupying a whopping great
819Mb and taking 15 hours to render. This version is a highly-compressed .mp4 file of only
about 4Mb:
Animated GIFs can't be displayed directly on THIS web page due to the site's specific CMS (Content Management System) constraints, but click HERE for an almost identical QuickTime Movie example of what STARTED life as an Animated GIF. (Link currently not working!)
(This 1fps (frame-per-second) file consists of seven 800x220-pixel web banners with 2-second intervals between them. (In "real life" we'd set the intervals to 15-20 seconds for readability purposes.)
The file-size is 8.1Mb, so you might have to give it 15 seconds or so to load (depending on your internet bandwidth).
By way of comparison, Animated GIFs are typically optimised for the internet and web pages, so are relatively small (in terms of file-size). The filesize for THIS particular Anim GIF (compared to the 8.1Mb QT Movie) is only 610Kb ! Moreover, unlike the Movie, it can be set to loop indefinitely at creation time.
Further filesize comparisons: The 30fps QT Movie of an 18-banner version was 4.95Gb vs 1.3Mb for the equivalent Anim GIF !
Another feature of GIFs (be they animated or not) is that they support transparent backgrounds, making it possible to create an animation, for example, of a person walking across the screen without the obstruction of the GIF's background. And Anim GIFs will usually play (and automatically loop) perfectly normally when included, in the body of e-Mails, making them a very useful Marketing tool. These type of media offer viable alternatives to situations in which FLASH isn't supported.

(Link currently not working!)
In this movie it is only the flame of the [manned] V1 Rocket that is animated and there are only eight primary frames, each with a 0.1-second interval, but there are five TWEENS ("In-betweens") between each frame to give the animation a smoother appearance.
You will have to hit the Play button repeatedly to replay it, but if you save the movie to your computer, QuickTime offers you an option to Loop it automatically. The QT Movie has a file-size of 8.8Mb (so it might take 15 seconds or so to download) while the original Anim GIF file only uses 466Kb !
( Actually, this is only a SMALL version of the V1 anim... The original screen size was 1440x960 pixels rather than 720x480, and 27.5Mb ! - Clearly, Animated GIFs are the way to go! )
The V1 graphic is also featured on this site's Illustrator Examples page.
