<< Back to 3D Modelling - 24
NOTE:
These 3D-Modelling pages are in reverse-chrono-logical order, so our most recent render offerings appear at the top of the "Products & Services" menu.
Go to "3D Modelling - 1" (created in 2015 or earlier) for a general overview of these pages.
People ask about the computers being used for these 3D renders: See page 3D Modelling - 24, on this site.
FURTHER NOTE:
Support for the CMS (Content Management System) which has been used to create these web pages for the past decade is being discontinued at the end of 2022. The pages will still be visible until the end of 2023, but it won't be possible to add any new content after December 2022.

Trick or Treat? (October 2022) :
TREAT! The Highballs... uh, EYEballs, are on us!
Bet ya can't eat just ONE!
A 1hr 28min ender on a fast machine. 6,741 ray-traced iterations.
Notes: Depth of Field was used to focus on the woman and her "snack". A subtle ammount of Atmospheric Ground Fog was used. A spotlight highlights the woman's head and there is an "invisible" point-light (of very low intensity) in her mouth!
I've Got My Eye on You! (October 2022) :
A 1hr 41min render on older machine. 346 ray-traced iterations.
Here's Looking at You, Kid ! (October 2022) :
A 4hrs 13mins render on older machine. 983 ray-traced iterations.
Vicky 01 (October 2022) :
This was our first experimental render using the new Genesis 9, quad-polygon-geometry based model in DAZ Studio 4.21 Pro.
Despite restricting the resolution to Sub-Divisions of 5 (where the maximums available were as high as 7-8) it still took 14hrs 36mins to render on an old Win 10 machine... 953 ray-traced iterations.
Vicky 02 (October 2022) :
This took a mere 4 mins 21 secs to render on a new Win 11 machine... 194 ray-traced iterations.
Gou Luk (October 2022) :
This was an experiment to compare the rendering power of two computers. The render on the old Windows 10 desktop had to be cancelled after 15hrs 25mins, at which stage it had only completed 195 iterations and was only 1% converged !
Moving the 3D Scene to the newer Windows 11 machine, the render was 95% converged after 13 mins 45 secs and 544 ray-traced iterations.
Trike and Bike - Miami (October 2022) :
There's a lot of detail in this render, which took 22hrs 37mins to reach 95% Convergeance on a fast computer! (2,010 ray-traced iterations.)
United We Stand...
... in a Gemini Sunset (31 October 2022) :
The 3D Scene/Model used multiple lights (including a back-spotlight and heavy Depth of Field.
It took 6hrs 19mins to reach 95% Convergeance on an old machine, with rendering Sub-Divisions not exceed-ing 4 (of up to 8)... 666 ray-traced iterations.
It might yet be worth moving the files to a more powerful machine and raising the Sub-Divs to see how much difference it makes...
Toon Parents (November 2022) :
We pushed the rendering Sub-Divisions to the max on our most powerful machine and it timed-out having completed 3,278 ray-traced iterations in 36hrs and 54mins, but only 80% complete!
Turns out that the high resolution settings chewed up about 70Gb of memory, so the GPU's dedicated VRAM couldn't be used! (ie, this was a CPU-only render.)
Genesis 9 Lingerie Expt
(November 2022) :
The old Dell couldn't even render this. It struggled valiantly for over 17hrs, but kept restarting after two ray-traced iterations! On the FAST machine it completed 2,057 iterations in 33mins 52secs!
The maximum Sub-Division settings were 4 and some could have set as high as 8, but one must bear in mind that each SubDiv increment DOUBLES the previous one... i.e. increasing from SubD 1 to 2 doubles the resolution. From 2 to 3 quadruples the original. 3 to 4 results in 8x the original, etc.. Memory and "grunt" become an issue.
Further complicating this render was the lighting. And the Bloom.
Just a Little Nip-and-Tuck
(November 2022) :
These were identical G8F base figures. Simple "Surgical Beauty" enhancements were applied to create the second:
Bichectomy, Cheek-Filler, Chin-Augmentation, Chin-Reduction, Face-Lift, Forehead-Augmentation, Lip-Filler, Nose-Job, Subtle Face-Lift and VLine-Surgery!
Max Sub-Divisions: 4.
Old machine, 21mins 44secs, 439 ray-traced iterations.
Asymmetrical Face
(November 2022) :
This was an exercise in Asymmetry in terms of hair, eyebrows, eyes and their surrounds, overall face, ears, lips, nose, cheeks, etc..
With Sub-Divisions set to a maximum of 4, the render failed completely on the old machine.
New machine, with all Sub-Divisions set to their highest (5): 1hr 54mins, 840 ray-traced iterations.
Humpty-Dumpty Sat on a Wall
(November 2022) :
Another instance where the rendering completely failed (after the first Iteration!) on the old machine.
New machine, with all Sub-Divisions set to their highest (5): 3mins 12secs, 324 ray-traced iterations.
Besuited (November 2022) :
This took 4mins 15secs to render on a fast machine. (396 ray-traced iterations.)
Face w Short Beard (November 2022) :
28mins 38secs to render 1,334 ray-traced iterations on a fast machine.
Face w Extra Beard (November 2022) :
28mins 29secs to render 1,358 ray-traced iterations on a fast machine.
That's a Wrap #1
(November 2022) :
17mins 38secs to render 1,195 ray-traced iterations on a fast machine... Golden Madonna.
That's a Wrap #2
(November 2022) :
Rendering as above... Egyptian Sand.
I am Beautiful (December 2022) :
A "Shape-Shifting" experiment...
30mins 44secs to render 420 ray-traced iterations on a fast machine.
