Shadow-casting exercise.

Shady Lady (August 2019) :

One in a series of experimental 3D renders with the focus on lighting and shadows. In the above case all "out of the box" lighting was removed, to be replaced with a high-intensity white spotlight with narrow spread from the upper left to create soft shadows.

3D software worlds are simulations of our REAL 3D world, so just as in REAL-life photography, if we were to remove the room and shoot directly into the sun, we'd create a silhoette, like this:

And if we were to make the fur (in the first render) an emissive light source of high intensity, this would be the result:

(The "95" was specially spot-lit, too, to make it stand out more.)

The original hi-rez ray-traced render actually timed-out after 10hrs of solid processing!

It would have been interesting to have re-done it with a several-day Max-Time, but it's unlikely that there would have been a dramatic change in appearance... and life is short! :-)
